It was heaven waking up this morning to the sound of the waves and knowing we didn’t have to pack up and move on. We managed to be able to poition the camper trailer so we can lay in bed and watch the water – what a great way to wake up.
After a hearty breakfast of bacon and egg we headed off to One Arm Cove where we were able to go to the hatchery and see up close where they breed local fish. Luke loved feeding the Barra even if it scared the living daylights out of all of us. He was dangling the fish in the water and before you knew it this huge Barramundi stuck his head out of the water and ripped it out of Lukes fingers.
Sam though feeding the clownfish (aided by Thomas) was more his style and they all enjoyed picking things up out of the touch pool. But my personal favourite was the Green Turtles who seemed quite happy to swim right up to us and check us out.
We headed back to the campsite for lunch and were treated to quite the whale show. We had seen whales yesterday and this morning but these three were in considerably closer and seemed quite happy just playing.
After lunch we headed down onto the beach. We are able to drive onto the beach to we were able to find a whole section of beach all to ourselves so we got to swim in this amazing aquamarine water and collect shells and generally just hang about on our own private beach for the afternoon. It is going to be very hard to pack up and leave here. The good thing is though, the plan for tomorrow is to just hang at the beach – my idea of a holiday after all the adventuring we have done.
